Tour de Cigar

Creating a global cigar experience right here in Lincoln.

Capital Cigar Lounge is unlike any other business in Lincoln. Their lounge is stocked with a world-class collection, with cigars from every corner of the world. They have a private, 24/7 lounge just for their members. Their bartenders are some of the best you can find, making drinks you can’t forget.

But when a totally new kind of business is introduced to a community, it’s important to establish what makes them special. So when Capital Cigar joined forces with redthread hoping to increase store traffic, that was our main goal — show Lincoln the amazing new spot in town, and how fortunate we are to have it.

This led us creating the Tour de Cigar, an annual loyalty program where members can try new cigars weekly while keeping track of their progress in custom-made passports. If members try enough cigars, they’re eligible for various cigar-focused prizes, including engraved ashtrays. We promoted the tour through their social channels, using paid ads to target a cigar-smoking demographic. In total, 1,400 booklets were handed out during the campaign to 30% of their clientele.

We could have pursued more traditional forms of advertising, be it social media videos or local billboards, but Capital Cigar Lounge isn’t a traditional business. In creating a distinct campaign built on long-lasting relationships and exposure to the wide world of cigars, we fell in line with what Capital Cigar is all about.
